Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?

Digital work: 2-5 working days. Printed pieces: 5-7 working days to make, then shipping. A carved seal: 7-10 working days. A pair of seals: 10-14 working days. Shipping time is additional and depends on your country.

How many revisions do I get?

Two free revisions while the name is being chosen. Once a name is confirmed and production has started, changes are charged at $15 — simply because the work has begun.

Can I return a custom piece?

Once production has started, a custom piece is not eligible for a change-of-mind return, because it was made for one person. If the mistake is ours — a wrong character, damage in transit — we remake it at our cost, no argument.

What if I do not know the recipient's details?

Common with gifts. Tell us what you do know. If gender or preference is missing, we suggest two candidates based on the name itself and explain the reasoning, so you can choose without a round of questions.

Do I need to know Chinese?

No. The report explains every character in English, including how to say it. Most of our customers do not read Chinese.

Will the name be readable to Chinese speakers?

Yes, and that is the point. Every name is checked aloud for awkward homophones and for how it looks written in a formal script.

Can you use a character I already love?

Usually. Send it to us and we will tell you honestly whether it works with the chosen sound. Sometimes a favourite character is better as a middle name than a given name, and we would rather explain that than quietly ignore it.

Do you keep my details?

We keep what is needed to complete and support the order — the name, the wording approved, and the order record. We do not publish customer names or use finished pieces in marketing without asking first.

Why is the ink pad water-based?

Traditional cinnabar paste is oil-based, and oil-based inks are restricted by many air carriers. A water-based pad gives a clean impression and ships without trouble.

How do you ship?

Prints and scrolls travel in a rigid tube, seals in a padded box, all tracked. Shipping is calculated at checkout by destination and method.
